Conference on the Rights of the Child: Voice, Vulnerability and Protection
Monday, April 8, 2019 from 10 am to 3:30 pm
Fauteux Hall, 57 Louis Pasteur Private, Room 302
University of Ottawa
To mark the 30thanniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on the Rights of the Child (IRLRC) calls for a reflection on the principles and challenges that underlie children’s rights. This multidisciplinary and bilingual conference examined the interaction between the child’s right to protection, which forms the foundation of children’s rights based on the child’s inherent vulnerability, and the child’s right to be heard or participate in matters that affect them, which is often considered a key principle of the CRC.
