Mr. Bourgeois is a general counsel with the Ottawa Tax Law Services Section, Department of Justice.  Since 1993, he has argued extensively before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court Trial Division and the Federal Court of Appeal. More recently, he has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada in the Garron Family TrustCraig and Envision Credit Union matters.

He is a member of the Bar of Quebec. Since 2006, he is a part-time teacher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa, where he teaches basic taxation and corporate taxation.
